Panerai Luminor

Although by no means diminutive, Panerai watches — with their excellent "cushion" case design that has become synonymous with the brand — do have a way of wearing smaller than advertised.  For us vintage snobs, modern Panerai can be a tricky subject.  They’re either a home-run, or, well…the opposite. This particular limited edition piece, a Reference PAM00172, is very much the former. Housed in a 47mm stainless steel cushion case with a sapphire crystal and a guarded, locking crown, it features a luminous matte black 'sandwich' dial with quadrant 3, 6, 9, & 12 'Arabic' indices, and a matching gold-tone handset. Powered by the Panerai's Calibre P.3000 manual winding movement, this piece comes paired to a signed olive green rubber strap with a signed steel pin buckle. This piece combines prototypical Panerai looks with a beautiful, balanced dial, excellent proportions, and classic Luminor design, with a vintage-twist. Couple fantastic design language with Panerai having one of the most vocally enthusiastic communities amongst wristwatch collectors, and you've got a hit combination!
