The Carrera was one of Jack Heuer’s most passionate projects, and his design ethos for this watch can be summed up in one word: legibility.
Jack wanted a watch that was stylish and functional - a watch that gives you everything you need and nothing you don’t.
In 2017, TAG Heuer and HODINKEE collaborated and released a contemporary iteration of the widely sought after Heuer "Skippererra" reference 7754 from the 1960's. Unlike the original, this piece features a 39mm stainless steel case and a box sapphire crystal accompanied by barrel chronograph pushers and a signed steel crown.
The sunburst blue dial features a tri-color, 30-minute totalizer at 9 o’clock, a framed date window at 3 o’clock, applied, polished indices, a matching luminous handset, and a contrasting orange, center chronograph seconds hand. On the reverse side of its case, this LE frames the self-winding Calibre 18 movement with a sapphire exhibition caseback.
Appropriately fitted to its original, signed, perforated black leather strap equipped with a push-button deployant clasp, this piece features all of its factory goodies!
Individually numbered and limited to just 125 pieces, this a rare opportunity to own one of the coolest Carreras of the past several decades!
