It takes some balls to wear this watch, but hey, “smoke ‘em if you got ‘em”. You know what kills? Smoking. You know what also kills? This watch! Take a look at it, it’s totally badass.  So what do we know about this watch? First off, this chronograph is powered by the Lemania Caliber 1341 movement, the same found in several of Omega’s Seamaster chronos. The predecessor to the cult favorite Lemania Caliber 5100, the 1341 also features a central minutes counter rather than the typical minutes sub-register.  It’s hard to know for sure, but Lemania most likely made the entire watch for Marlboro, as they did for some other house brands during this time period. We all are (hopefully) familiar with Lemania for their superb chronograph movements (including the legendary Omega .321), but they also produced many excellent self-branded watches for retail sale as well as for several European militaries. We’re not sure how Marlboro distributed these watches, but most likely they either went to company executives. Surely these watches were not part of some cheesy promotion, since a watch of this quality would have been quite costly. With its 39mm gold-plated case and admittedly cool looking Marlboro logo, this watch is an awesome relic of a bygone era and a fantastic conversation piece. One thing’s for sure: this is the only Marlboro product that won’t give you a black lung.
