Solid gold Datejusts are pretty unusual
Built in very small numbers so as not to compete with the "Big Brother" Day-Date, precious metal clad Datejusts have been around since they were introduced in 1945, but are very scarce on the market today. We jump whenever we find a clean one, but locating an untouched case and dial is easier said than done.
This example, a 1600/8 dating to circa 1977, is nothing short of a time capsule!
With a flawless case sporting a smooth bezel and a matching gold tone sunburst pie-pan dial with richly patinated Tritium Luminous plots, this Datejust is also amongst the very last of the "Four Digit" models, sporting an acrylic crystal and a non-quickset date movement. It is fitted to an equally mint solid link 18k Jubilee bracelet with blade clasp, giving it an outstanding wrist presence.
We've never seen nicer!
