IWC Portifino

The Portofino line has long been an overlooked corner of the IWC catalog. Inspired by classic 1960s models, modern Portofino watches combine tried-and-true characteristics of favorite mid-century timepieces with excellent modern movements, handsome dial designs, and a wide array of strap choices.  The example we have here is a vintage reference featuring many of the design hallmarks that serve as the basis for the current Portofino collection. It features a 34mm round stainless steel case, straight lugs, an IWC ‘fish’ logo signed crown, a screw-down caseback, and a flat sapphire crystal. Rather than springing for a dressier aesthetic, IWC gave this Portofino a 'Mark'-style, military-type dial configuration with 'gilt' Arabic indices, luminous tritium quadrant markers and hands, and a date window at 3 o'clock. Powered by a self-winding movement, it's been livened up with one of our own Beast Blue Montone leather straps. Legible, easy-wearing and absolutely versatile, this vintage piece still has a ton left in the tank and is eagerly awaiting its next owner!
