Long before its acquisition by the Swatch Group in 2013, Harry Winston was one of the world’s foremost jewelers. Having outfitted Hollywood’s most famous starlets and sold some of the world’s finest diamonds, Harry Winston was a celebrity jeweler if ever there was one. Since his namesake company came under the Swatch umbrella, it has continued to turn out fine elegant watches that incorporate the brand’s jewelry know-how in design. This fine Avenue Squared dress watch is a perfect example of Harry Winston’s skill in melding avant-garde tropes with beautiful gem-setting. Housed in an 18K white gold case with and a diamond-encrusted bezel and a signed crown, it features a mother of pearl dial with off-center subsidiary registers capable of displaying two different time zones and a smaller subsidiary constant-seconds register. It comes outfitted with a blue alligator strap (and three brand new spares in additional colors!) and a diamond-set pin buckle, it is powered by a reliable Swiss quartz movement. Dating to the mid 2010s, this Avenue Squared is a wildly fun and colorful alternative to tried-and-true dress watch designs such as the Tank or the Serpenti. Perhaps it’s not quite as discrete, but honestly- who doesn’t want a bit of bling-pow fun from their dress watch?!
