A few years ago, Tissot dove into its history to find inspiration. The watch that caught their imagination was this one, the Visodate.
Originally released in 1953, the Visodate was an excellent execution of the simple, stainless men's watch from the Swiss manufacture in the early post-war era (long before they were absorbed by the Swatch Group).
Replete with killer 50's styling - including the early, and hard-to-find italicized script - gorgeous simplicity, light two-tone effects from applied gold markers and sword hands and the robust Tissot automatic movement, it is no wonder that the contemporary Tissot designers gravitated to the Visodate as their inspiration for launching their heritage watch line.
While we appreciate Tissot's desire to revitalize the Visodate, our affection for truly exceptional vintage things - things that are imbued with a story and a soul of their own - makes us head-over-heels in love with this timeless classic.
