Why We Love It The Rolex Datejust is a perennial favorite among collectors and enthusiasts. Its 36mm case wears extremely well and its classic look gives it appeal among even the most staunch Rolex devotees. But occasionally, the palette craves something even simpler. Enter the Rolex Oysterdate Precision. The slight size difference and manually-wound movement of the Precision models makes some shy away, but for those of us who know better, it's a sleeper sport-style Rolex, making it a perfect choice for any number of uses, from dress to casual. This particular example is as clean as they come; with a flawless dark grey sunburst dial and exceedingly sharp case. It also features a perfectly matching handset and lightly stretched 19mm folded-link Oyster bracelet with taper, as well as a simple, smooth bezel.  Just right. The Story While most people are liable to think of the modern incarnations of the Submariner or Day-Date when they think of a Rolex, you know better.  You know that this storied brand has an incredibly diverse portfolio of timepieces worthy of admiration, and while you might have a matte dial Submariner or an 18K Day-Date earmarked for future purchase, you know you don't have to drop a load of coin to get something truly awesome while building your collection. With perfect portions, a robust manually winding movement and timeless styling, the Oyster may simply be the most versatile and wearable watches ever designed. This particular model, an Oyster Precision Reference 6426, dates from approximately 1972 and features a classic 35mm steel Oyster case, crisp silver sunburst dial and a smooth steel bezel.   When it comes to "budget Rolex", in our opinion there are few watches more pleasing than the Oysterdate Precision.  With perfect proportions, robust movements, and timeless styling, the Precision series might just be the most versatile and wearable watches ever designed.  And the best part?  Manually-winding movements.  Unlike their "Perpetual" brothers, the Precision series have hand cranked mechanical movements, making them an incredibly cool - and reliable -  What can't be discerned from the photos is just how thin the Precisions are - making them incredibly slim and comfortable watches to wear, and the perfect accessories for dressing up your wrist under a cuff. Whether paired up with a suede strap, a full-grain leather, a nylon or its original metal bracelet, this is one vintage Rolex that will certainly catch the eye of true vintage enthusiasts, particularly in a room full of sports watches!
