1972’s Chronograph 1 — strikingly cool as it is — is far from Porsche Design’s only notable wristwatch. In fact, we’d argue that there’s another that’s just as important, though for different reasons. This piece is the IWC Porsche Design "Titan" Chronograph, the very first chronograph produced in titanium. A beautiful piece with a rugged appeal and construction, this watch was really important in the history of IWC chronograph production, and also blazed the path for further utilization of titanium in watchmaking. This watch has a number of unique details, from the striking bracelet design, to the integrated pusher system seamlessly incorporated into the sides of the case itself. This watch also has a unique slate of complications, with a day and date functionality in addition to the chronograph. These IWC x Porsche Design pieces from the 1980s-early 1990s look just as futuristic today as they did upon their release and make for a fantastic, not commonly seen neo-vintage daily driver. Snag it before someone else has the same idea!
