Rolex Oysterdate Linen Dial -1969

With perfect proportions, robust movements, and timeless styling, the Rolex Oyster series might just be the most versatile and wearable watches ever designed. Whether its an Air King or a Daytona, the Oyster Case is immediately identifiable as a Rolex, a universally recognized sign of sophistication and taste. While the larger, sportier models might get the limelight in the collector marketplace, there are plenty of affordable "starter" options for the beginning collector to consider - and are nothing to sneer at! This particular model, an early Oysterdate Reference 6694, dates from approximately 1969 and features a 35mm steel Oyster case, silver linen textured dial and a smooth steel bezel. What differentiates this model from others is the use of a manually winding mechanical movement instead of an automatic, making it not only incredibly robust, but also relatively unusual as compared with the more common "Oyster Perpetual" models. Fortunately for everyone, market values for manually-wound watches haven't caught up to their automatic siblings, making the Reference 6694 a tremendous value and a great wearable vintage Rolex.  Just to put the record straight, this linen texture dial is an incredibly uncommon variation and is downright stunning! We have only had a handful of these beauties come through and they never last long, so don't hesitate!
