Rolex Day-Date

The Rolex Day-Date "President' is arguably the most important dress watch in history. Worn as an accessory with a fine bespoke suit or with jeans and a t-shirt, a solid gold Rolex might just change the way you think about precious metal wristwatches. And going with a true icon, worn by everyone from President Eisenhower to Tony Soprano, makes the idea of adding a little extra shine to your wardrobe that much more compelling. This particular piece, a Reference 1803 dates to circa 1963 and is finished in solid 18k yellow gold and features an excellent glossy black dial with applied baton and doorstop indices with a matching obelisk handset, a magnified acrylic crystal, a fluted yellow gold bezel, and a matching 18k yellow gold President bracelet with an signed blade clasp.  Lovely! Yellow gold Day-Dates fitted with black dials are not as common as you might think, making this example with its slightly more interesting dial a real gem.  When only a gold Rolex will do, this Day-Date is an excellent choice!
