Christopher Ward C1 Bel Canto 'Dragonfly'

Christopher Ward, founded in 2004, is a UK-based watch brand that has generated a whole catalog of exciting watches -- pieces that for the most part represented the traditional approach to horology. That is, until the release of the Bel Canto. The Bel Canto is one of the most affordable chiming watches on the market. It chimes at the top of the hour, with exposed gongs on the front of the dial that allow visualization of the mechanical complication.  The design of the complication came from recognition that a jump hour function requires a quick burst of energy each hour. The rationale was that he could leverage a similar burst of power to chime on the hour. This was not only an incredible idea, it also makes for one of the most accessible entries into the world of chiming complications. Ultimately, this watch changed the trajectory of Christopher Ward as a brand, as more appreciated CW as an innovator not just a typical watchmaker.  This particular Bel Canto comes fashioned from titanium with a 41mm case. The reference C01-41APT2-T00B3 features a 'Dragonfly' blue dial with the exposed gong system visible at the bottom, and a 'skeletonized' time display at 12.
