Breitling has long been purveyor of chronographs to pilots. In fact, the original Breitling Chronomat models of the 1940s were built from the ground up to be no-nonsense instruments for use in the cockpit. Since then, Breitling has expanded on its line of aviation watches, moving into more mechanically (and visually) complex chronographs, as well as more straightforward, legible designs such as the Avenger line. This particular piece, an Avenger B01 42 features a — you guessed it — 42mm black ceramic case with dual 'paddle' pushers, a sapphire crystal, a signed crown, and a unique dive bezel with signature 'rider tabs'. Inside, it has a lovely light blue dial with applied luminous 'Arabic' indices, dark blue chronograph registers, an outer minute track, and a luminous 'sword' handset. Paired to a light blue leather strap with a signed titanium deployant clasp, it's powered by the COSC-certified automatic Calibre B01 movement from Breitling.
