The Constellation was once Omega’s flagship model.
A contemporary to the original Speedmaster, Seamaster SM300, Railmaster and DeVille lines, the Connie was a popular choice during its day and age, known for its award-winning precision movements and excellent execution. Over the years Omega produced many different Constellation models, with a wide variation in case shape and dial design.
This particular example from the 2020s uses a case design that clearly drew its inspiration from Gerald Genta's masterpieces. With its integrated bracelet and dual personality, it bridges the gap between a pure dress watch and a luxury sports model.
Housed in a 27mm stainless steel case with a sapphire crystal, a signed crown, and a polished and engraved bezel with Roman indices, it features a grey lacquer ‘feather’-pattern dial with applied diamond indices and a matching ‘dagger’ handset. Powered by a quartz movement, it comes paired to an integrated, stainless steel multi-link bracelet with a signed, hidden deployant clasp in steel and gold. (And of course, being a Constellation, it sports the obligatory, observatory-engraved caseback.)
This lovely ‘Connie’ offers Omega pedigree and performance in a package with neo-classical styling and ‘luxury sport watch’ tropes that are coming back in a big way.
