Some of the best value to be had in the world of watches is in the Seiko portfolio.
From hardy divers to slim dress watches, the Japanese brand’s mid-20th century output was incredibly robust, with so many excellent gems having left the company’s factories that it can be difficult to keep track of them all. Many are intimately familiar with the “62MAS” diver, a beautifully proportioned 37mm automatic tool watch from the 1960s.
This particular Seiko is part of the Presage collection--- and this one is one of the most valuable and collectable that the brand has made. A Reference SJE077, this piece is outfitted with a lovely blue enamel dial, twisted lug case, white Breguet numerals, and a date window at 3 o'clock.
Ticking within is a reliable automatic winding movement, caliber 6L35. If you're looking for a one and done dress watch, it's hard to beat this beautiful watch that combines high quality movement technology with more elevated aspects of watchmaking with the enamel dial.
Overall, this is one of the most compelling Seikos ever made!
