Rolex Daytona

We all know the Daytona story — that of a model that has proven to be an all-time favorite amongst collectors. Why? Rolex's brilliant motorsports chronograph is in pole position in any category, vintage or modern. And while current automatic versions admittedly don't do as much for us as a nice hand-cranking example, a Daytona is a Daytona, and that’s just fine with us. This particular watch, a Reference 116519, dates to circa 2003-2004 and features a 40mm 18k white gold Oyster case, a sapphire crystal, a crisp white lacquer dial with applied white gold 'Arabic' indices and silver subsidiary register rings, a matching handset, and an excellent brown alligator leather strap with a matching white gold Fliplock clasp. The Daytona, in all its various guises, has long been a favorite of collectors the world over, and  it's easy to see why in the case of this contemporary piece!
