NOMOS Tangente

If you haven’t heard of NOMOS, listen up! Over the past several years, the company has surged in popularity due to its minimalist, clean designs, German origins, and attractive price points. Few other brands pack such comprehensive horological value into their wares as the Glashütte-based firm, which was founded just weeks after the fall of the Berlin Wall.  The particular NOMOS we have here is a Tangente 38, Reference 165.Unabashedly Bauhaus in inspiration, it’s housed in a 38mm stainless steel case with ‘holey’ lugs, a sapphire crystal, a signed crown, and a polished bezel. It features a beautiful, satin silver dial with painted black Roman indices, a matching, blued steel handset, and a signed, black leather strap with a signed, steel pin buckle. Powering the Tangente 38 is one of the secrets to the NOMOS brand: the in-house, hand-wound Alpha caliber with a power reserve of 43 hours. One of many such in-house movements produced by the company, it’s simple, reliable, precise.  Highly considered in design and accompanied by its factory goodies — including an additional strap — this is a dress (or everyday) watch that’s not to be missed.
