Then check this out: Long-established Swiss watchmaker Louis Erard teamed up with renowned architecture and design firm Atelier Oï on a special timepiece meant to recall one of the earliest forms of elemental timekeeping: the sundial. Engraved with asymmetric rays, the dial radiates outward, playing with the idea of a traditional wristwatch and breaking down the timekeeping functions into individual elements. This Régulateur — a limited edition of 178 pieces from the 2020s — is housed in a 41mm stainless steel case with a sapphire crystal, a signed crown, and a polished bezel. It featured a grey-blue, stylized steel dial with a matching blued steel handset separated into separate hour, minute and seconds functions. Powered by the automatic Swiss Sellita SW226-1 movement visible via an exhibition caseback, it comes paired to a grey leather strap with a signed, stainless steel pin buckle.  In near-mint condition, this Régulateur is accompanied by much of its ephemera, making for an exciting package for someone who appreciates left-of-center watchmaking.
