Rolex Explorer

Last year at Watches And Wonders, Rolex unveiled its newest iteration of the vaunted Rolex Explorer (also known as the Explorer I) and what the world got was not only a mechanical update, but a shocking and unexpected size shrink back to the 36mm case that we all know and love.  A further shock, was the inclusion of the new 36mm size with a two-tone yellow gold and stainless steel construction. Thats right! The Explorer 1, thought to be one of the last remaining pure sports watches in the Rolex Professional lineup is now offered in [partial] precious metal. This Reference 124273 features a 36mm Oyster case with a sapphire crystal a signed yellow gold crown, a smooth polished yellow gold bezel, a luminous glossy black dial with a matching yellow gold handset, and a two-tone Oyster bracelet with a signed fliplock clasp with Rolex's fantastic Easylink system. The reintroduction of the 36mm Explorer is no doubt the hot ticket at the moment, but this two-tone variant offers a bit of fizz for those looking to have a little fun with things.
