The Cartier Tank Americaine is quite possibly the least understood model in Cartier's lineup. Introduced in 1989 under Richemeont group ownership, it is in many ways a modern update to their vintage Tank Cintrée models. With an elongated case featuring a gently curved case back, the Americaine line was designed from the start to be a larger watch to suit American tastes. Initially launched exclusively with quartz movements, the line expanded in over time to include a variety of mechanical variants as well as sizes, case materials, and complications that put it all over the map in terms of value.  This particular example, a reference WB7019K2-1725, features a 22mm x 41mm 18k yellow gold case with a curved sapphire crystal, a sparkling diamond set case, a non-luminous cream guilloché dial with printed ‘Arabic’ indices, a blued-steel ‘sword’ handset, and Cartier's ubiquitous cabochon winding crown with a diamond setting.  This stunner fitted to an eye-catching solid 18k yellow gold, multi-link bracelet with a hidden double-fold over clasp, and is powered by an automatic winding movement. This is a special one, folks!
