IWC X Collective Horology Pilot's Watch Chronograph C.03

Collective Horology is no longer the new kid on the horological block.  Founded by Asher Rapkin and Gabe Riley, Collective Horology has built a loyal following based on collaborative projects with established manufactures made available to a community of vetted enthusiasts. Each collaboration is a reflection of their interests and tastes for design, which have translated into a handful of successful releases with independents, microbrands, and larger maisons. In 2021, Collective linked up with IWC to put their own twist on the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 and the result is a sleek, monochromatic take of a fan favorite aviation chrono. Dubbed the C.03, this collaboration highlights IWC’s manufacturing prowess and watchmaking heritage with an unmistakably minimalist design savvy. Internally referred to as Reference IW388105, the model features a 41mm stainless steel case with a signed screwdown crown, barrel pushers, sapphire crystal and an exhibition caseback displaying the in-house Calibre 69385 automatic movement equipped with a nickel-plated winding rotor. Its matte black dial has all the signature Pilot’s Watch Chronograph elements — Arabic hour numerals, luminous indices at the quadrant positions, a large luminours handset and a triple register display. Its gray tonality and German abbreviations on the date disc highlight Collective Horology's soft but impactful touch.   Outfitted with a woven textured black calfskin strap with gray contrast stitching and a signed steel pin buckle, this limited production model was made in a series of only 250 individually numbered units and comes with its full set of factory accoutrements including its outer box, inner travel case, booklet, polishing cloth, spare green fabric strap, archive certification from Collective Horology, and warranty card dated January, 2022. Stealthy, well sized and offering IWC's legendary design and robust internals, the C.03 is a killer example of a bespoke pilot's chronograph done right!
