Bulgari Diagono Scuba

With its own unique design language and eccentric aesthetics, the Bulgari Diagono has developed its own cult following. To the delight of tool-watch aficionados like ourselves, the Bulgari Diagono Scuba takes that same unconventional format and turns the dial up to eleven. This example, a Reference SD 38 S, is unabashedly robust. It features a 38mm stainless steel case equipped with a chunky, fully-graduated timing bezel with large circular grooves for easy grip, and has become inextricably linked as part of its design panache. Complemented by a sapphire crystal, and a crown flanked by crown guards, this piece means business below the surface, boasting a 200 meter water resistance rating.  On the more conservative side of things, its luminous matte black dial features Arabic indices at 12 and 6 o’clock, circular applied hour indices, a  date window at 3 o’clock and a sword/arrow combination handset.  Thanks in part to its relative dial/case proportion balance (much like our all-time favorite dive watch), this watch wears surprisingly well on smaller wrists as well as larger. And with legitimate technical chops that stands up against any other professional dive watch out there, the Diagono Scuba is way more than just a fashion piece. In an alternate universe in which Captain Cousteau wore a Bulgari, this would surely be the one.
