Rolex Submariner Date

As a successor to the iconic Reference 1680, the 16610 embodies the spirit of the original Submariner Date with function-first design and legendary build quality. Early 16610 models utilized Tritium luminous material, while later references moved to Luminova, making it a truly significant transitional piece. The 16610 is also the last reference Submariner Date to use the classically proportioned tapered 39mm Oyster case. This particular L-Serial example dates to circa 1989 and features a holey lug Oyster case with a magnified sapphire crystal, a deep glossy black Tritium dial with a matching handset, a unidirectional rotating dive timing bezel with a crisp black insert, and a matching Oyster bracelet with divers extension. Furthermore, this piece is accompanied by a service card and pouch from Rolex. All in all, an excellent and early example of a neo-vintage must-have!
