Rolex Cellini

Rolex may be known to most for their superlative chronometers, tough-as-nails sports watches and iconic chronographs - but to say that's all they do would be missing a large part of their important story. Rolex has been making beautiful, art-forward timepieces since their inception, and the Cellini collection best exhibits Rolex's commitment to perfection not only for construction but for style and design that exists beyond the scope of their better-known Professional collection. This particular example, a Reference 4170, dates to circa 1995 and features a 31mm white gold hexagonal case with an engine-turned finish, a crisp, glossy white dial with printed black 'Roman' indices and a matching handset, a signed black crocodile strap with a signed white gold pin buckle, and a hand-cranking movement within. It would be enough to enjoy this excellent piece on its own, but this piece comes compete with all its goodies. There is a whole lot to love about the Cellini, and while they have played second-string to steel sports models in recent history, we see the demand for Cellini models increasing dramatically today. As tastes change and trends evolve, we're confident that we'll be seeing an even greater desire for smaller, thinner, more elegant and artistic timepieces in the coming years.
