Zodiac Olympos 'Mystery Dial'

Sold / unavailable · analogshift.com · Watch
In the mid-20th century, watch designers were thinking outside the box.
Way outside the box. These days, it’s all vintage reissues peppered with the occasional, original exception — Bulgari’s Octo Finissimo comes to mind — but back then, every other timepiece was seemingly some wacky, ass-kicking design.
For Zodiac, the success of their SeaWolf having debuted in the early 1950s, allowed the brand to expand on their function-forward tool watch designs, innovate mechanically, and have a little fun every now and then with pieces like the Astro, and the watch that we have here: an Olympos 'Mystery Dial.'
Coming in at 35mm in diameter with an asymmetrical stainless steel case, an acrylic crystal, and a signed crown, it features a sunburst silver dial with an applied Tritium hour hand on its central rotating disk, an outer steel graduated chapter ring, a matching Tritium minute hand, and a central seconds hand.
Powered by Zodiac'c Calibre 70-72 automatic winding movement, this piece comes fitted to one of our Analog:Shift beige Cervo leather straps with a signed steel pin buckle.
Wild. Excellent.
Don't sleep on this one!
