Zodiac Super SeaWolf

The Zodiac Seawolf is considered by many to be amongst the first purpose-built diving watches to ever be produced, alongside the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, DOXA Sub 300 and the Rolex Submariner. With the Super Seawolf, Zodiac's approach was function-forward. This model was an alternative to the standard SeaWolf; overbuilt to compete with the deepest diving competition of its era. These watches were built for a purpose and well used for that purpose, so finding one in this condition is quite special. This particular example is without question one of the cleanest we've ever come across. It features a strong case and a shockingly pristine matte black dial with extremely well preserved Tritium indices and matching handset. Furthermore, this watch comes on the excellent Expandro beads-of-rice bracelet with a ratcheting clasp (and favorite here at Analog:Shift). Perhaps most impressive is its distinctive black acrylic bezel which remains in near-mint condition with perfect rotating action and no stress fractures to be seen - excellent. When compared to Fifty-Fathoms and Submariner models of the same vintage, you might say that the Seawolf is an undervalued bargain. We agree, and are delighted to have this incredible example offered for sale!
