Tiffany & Co. 'Explorer' Stainless Steel

Tiffany & Co is one of the most respected names in the jewelry and watch industries, and vintage classics from the brand have always had a special place in our hearts at Analog:Shift. This midcentury-style classic serves as a great reminder of many of the reasons we love the brand.  Manually wound in stainless steel, this is not a particularly common configuration for watches that can play the role of a dress watch from this time period. Typically, dressier pieces were rendered from precious metal, with utilitarian designs cut from stainless steel. This piece walks the line between sport and dress, bearing some influences from the field watch world and others from the dress watch world.  The dial bears an explorer 3,6,9,12 layout-- classic field watch DNA. Simultaneously, this piece has a lovely dauphine handset, applique numerals, dot indexes, and a silvery refined dial texture that screams dress watch.  The result is a piece that is equally at home in a variety of contexts, and we love that about this piece. Manually wound, and manufactured by one of the most beloved names in New York, it's hard to think of a cooler vintage classic to add to a collection. We love it!
