The GMT-Master Reference 1675 is a genre-defining timepiece.
The second generation of the dual timezone wristwatch from Rolex, the 1675 was introduced in 1960 and saw nearly two decades of continuous production, resulting in a myriad of dial and case variations that have become one of the most exciting sub-genres of vintage Rolex collecting.
The 1675 carries-over the ubiquitous 24hr blue and red 'Pepsi' bezel insert from its predecessor, but upgrades to aluminum from bakelite and grows to 39mm with added crown guards.
This particular example dates to circa 1969, and features an excellent, professionally refurbished holey lug case - housing a matte black Tritium dial with matching handset, a magnified acrylic crystal, and an extremely uncommon Indian market Jubilee bracelet with a signed blade clasp.
It would be enough to enjoy this excellent example on its own, but this particular timepiece comes to us from the family of the original owner and is accompanied by its original Indian market box, guarantee booklet, chronometer certificate, serialized hangtag, and punched papers.
Be warned - trying on a 1675 on will undoubtedly ruin you for the modern iterations!
