Why We Love It  German watches are being talked about more and more recently, thanks to huge success from brands like A. Lange & Söhne and Nomos Glashutte. While still overlooked when it comes to the more storied Swiss producers, the Germans manufacture some of the best watches in the world. And of course you all know we have a thing for military watches. So - German military timepieces? Absolutely. The model we have here is the Type 88, produced by Junghans. At 38mm, the watch was designed to be legible while on the battlefield. The case is in excellent condition,  with just the right amount of wear around the edges. The glossy black dial contrasts greatly with beautiful, puffy luminous Arabic numerals.  This is an awesome 'oddball' chronograph with genuine military provenance, and not one you're likely to see on the wrist of someone at the corner deli, so if you're a fan of German watchmaking and/or armed forces history, have a close look!  The Story Junghans, a German company perhaps better known for their bauhaus and aviation-inspired wristwatch designs and mantle clocks, has been in business producing such instruments since 1861. In 1903, Junghans had the largest watch and clock factory in the world.  In addition to producing watches and clocks, the manufacturer also produces fuze-technology for artillery, mortar, medium-calibre, tanks, anti-tanks and cruise missiles.
