Rolex Day-Date 'Matte Rose'

The Rolex Day-Date "President' is arguably the most important dress watch in history. Worn as an accessory with a fine bespoke suit or with jeans and a t-shirt, a solid gold Rolex might just change the way you think about precious metal wristwatches. And going with a true icon, worn by everyone from President Eisenhower to Tony Soprano, makes the idea of adding a little extra shine to your wardrobe that much more compelling. This particular piece, a Reference 1803 dates to circa 1970 and is finished in solid 18k rose gold and features an excellent matte, yes, matte black Tritium dial with applied baton indices and matching handset, a magnified acrylic crystal, a fluted rose gold bezel, and a matching 18k rose gold President bracelet with an early signed blade clasp.  Outstanding! Spared the fate of so many 1803s, this particular Day-Date remains in strong condition throughout, with nice even lugs and deep hallmarks. Rare is a superlative greatly overused in this industry... but with a configuration like this, the term is absolutely befitting.
