Why We Love It
Remember brushing your teeth, combing your hair, popping on a nicely tailored suit and leaving your home to do something a little fancy?
We do - and we can't wait to get back to it! Of course, when the time comes, you'll want to have a proper vintage dress watch to accompany you. Allow us to present a stunning piece from a brand that needs no introduction - Patek Philippe.
Dating to the 1960s, this Reference 3468 Calatrava is constructed from solid 18k yellow gold. Featuring a flawless silver satin dial features relief-engraved stick indices and and a matching gold 'pencil' handset. This stunning piece belies its meager 33mm dimensions due to its ultra-thin snap-back case construction; it wears as large or even larger than many of the 36mm dress pieces we have in our collection!
Given its outstanding condition, we'd wager this lovely piece has been sitting unused for quite some time. Here's hoping it finds a good home on the wrist of someone who will change that...
The Story
Founded in 1839, Patek Philippe is one of the oldest watch manufacturers in the world with an uninterrupted watchmaking history. Few luxury brands in the world carry the gravitas of their name, and for good reason. The firm's commitment to excellence in horological manufacture is unflinching, and their track record of innovation in design without peer. They continue to lead the industry, and even their fiercest competitors have nothing but the utmost respect for the company.
Vintage Patek Philippe is for many the ultimate goal of timepiece collecting, and for a certain type, the only vintage timepieces they collect. Whichever way you look at it, there is no questioning the elegance of design, superlative manufacture of their movements, and that finding these characteristics on a vintage piece that also tells a story is some next level shit.
