The Constellation was once Omega’s flagship model. A contemporary to the original Speedmaster, Seamaster 300, Railmaster and DeVille lines, the Connie was a popular choice during its day and age, known for its award-winning precision movements and high-concept design execution. Over the years Omega produced many different Constellation models, with a wide variation in case shape and dial design.  This particular piece, a Reference 167.005 comes with a very unique lug profile, classic silver-toned grained dial, luminous 'dauphine' hands, applied 'baton' indexes, and a signed octagonal crown. The case itself measures 34mm in diameter, but the elongated lug profile lets the watch sit a bit broader on the wrist, making this piece quite comfortable in a modern context.  This piece captures so much of what makes vintage Omega attractive. The aesthetics are versatile — not too casual but not obsessively austere. Vintage Constellations really feel like great all around watches, the types of pieces you’d want to wear every day. They’re accessibly-priced in terms of collectable vintage watches from Omega, and pack a serious punch. The other great thing about this piece is its incredible versatility. Paired with a suede strap, this piece would look at home with a pair of jeans. Slap it on an alligator strap, and you could wear this with a suit and tie. In short, a strap monster. Powered by an Omega self-winding Calibre, this piece is outfitted with a black leather strap with a correct, Omega-signed stainless steel pin buckle. On the reverse, a screw caseback bears the iconic Constellation motif. Looking for the perfect entry into the world of vintage? Between the attractive sizing, versatile aesthetics, historical prominence, and brand recognition, this watch is the one!
