The Seamaster 300 was Omega's response to the Rolex Submariner upon its introduction in 1957. Featuring a robust steel case with a 300-meter depth rating, a rotating bezel graduated with dive-timing scales, and a metal bracelet with diver's expansion links, the early Seamaster 300 was not only a functional diver that would go on to see use in Her Majesty's Navy, but is arguably one of the handsomest sports watch designs of the past century. As it evolved, the Omega Seamaster 300 underwent numerous changes, with nearly innumerable variants in a variety of materials and colorways produced over the past 60 years. This fact alone has made the Seamaster Professional line (as it came to be known) so desirable to a large portion of the collector community, simply because they don't all look exactly the same. One of the watershed design motifs began in the 1990s with the introduction of blue and black "wave" dials popularized by Pierce Brosnan's 007 in the 1996 Bond film Goldeneye. This design language lives on well after the 90s ended in both modern James Bond-themed limited editions and in the core collection. This example, a Reference 2220.80.00, was seen on the wrist of Daniel Craig during his first appearance as 007 in 2006's Casino Royale and features the now-classic twisted-lug case design in 41mm with a helium escape valve at 10 o'clock, a 'scalloped' bezel with a navy aluminum insert, and a luminous blue 'wave' dial with a matching skeletonized-sword handset. Accompanied by a multi-link stainless steel bracelet equipped with a signed deployant clasp and a diver extension, this piece is powered by the chronometer-certified Omega Calibre 2500 automatic movement. In excellent condition, it includes its full factory set of boxes, booklet, warranty, and pictogram cards. It looked great on Craig's wrist during a high-stakes game of Texas Hold' Em, and we're sure it'll look great on your wrist too, whether you're gambling for your life or not!
