First released in 1954, the Breitling Navitimer has been in production longer than any other sporting chronograph. Complex yet elegant, you're bound to get lost in the dial … which probably isn't a good thing if you're using it to navigate while piloting an aircraft, but we digress...
In the decades since its introduction, the Navitimer collection has seen countless variations that offer a wide range of design features, materials, complications and casing materials. This example, a Reference A17395361L1P1, offers a 35mm stainless steel case and features a sapphire crystal, signed crown and a bi-directional internal rotating bezel displaying a slide-rule navigational scale. Its sunburst green dial features a peripheral speed scale, applied, polished applied baton markers and luminous plots, a luminous handset, a red arrow center seconds hand and a dimpled bezel.
Powered by the Breitling Calibre 17 — a modified ETA 2824-2 automatic movement — it comes paired to a green alligator leather strap with a matching pin buckle, all accentuating the vibrant mint dial.
There’s no mistaking the aesthetics of a Breitling Navitimer. Even without a chronograph complication, the multi-scaled dial on this Navitimer 35 offers a load of history and style!
Plus, the 35mm sizing makes this one of the most wearable Breitlings available for those that swing towards the smaller end of the sizing spectrum.
