Yes, we're vintage watch snobs. In virtually any comparison, we'll take a piece that has lived a life over something shiny and new. There is just something inherently superior in our minds about a timepiece that has already passed through time. It gets a little metaphysical, a little emotional, a little wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey to explain properly, but you're with us, right? Anyhow, there IS a time and place for a modern wristwatch — in the field. If you're out digging up Unicorn bones in the Scottish highlands, battling space aliens with adaptive camouflage in some equatorial rainforest, defending your urban keep against a raging zombie horde — whatever — chances are a modern timepiece would be a better tool for the job.  Serica has been amongst our favorite modern micro brands since they launched in 2019. Based in Paris, they are the brainchild of two young gentlemen who had a desire to construct minimalistic tool watches built to exacting standards that have classically-industrial designs and are heavy, tough and beautiful. This beautiful piece, a Reference 8315-1, is a perfect representation of what we mean. Extremely substantial in construction but modern in execution, this beautiful diver is a capable tool with 200m of water resistance and a twisted lug case construction. A retro broad arrow handset tops it all off for a truly sensational package through and through. To couple with the dive spec of this piece, we also have a lollipop GMT hand for twin time zone tracking.  If you like looking at pretty watches, we have plenty of those listed. But if you want a hard core tool from a brand with the spec to match, this is undoubtedly one of the most underrated, unknown brands out there.
